Angel L. Sierra is a licensed optician and President of Hispana Vision, LLC, established in 1993 and located in Hartford, CT. As owner/operator of Hispana Vision, Mr. Sierra oversees the daily operations of one of the most successful and busiest inner city visioncare centers in the state of Connecticut. Located in the Frog Hollow section of Hartford, Hispana Vision under the guidance of Mr. Sierra has specialized in offering a full line of eyecare services from eye frame repairs to eye exams offered by four highly skilled Optometrists.
Originally located in Parkville, Mr. Sierra in 1999 purchased his own building. After spending months in the design and renovation of an abandoned parcel of property, he relocated his business to the new and remodeled 86 Park Street. 86 Park Street was built on a dream to have all the amenities needed to offer the best in eye care to a diverse population. Mr. Sierra’s concern for the early preventive treatment of glaucoma and other ocular diseases has been a cornerstone of his commitment to the community he has served for over 20 years. He has combined the services of prescription eye, contact, frame ware, optometry and referrals to specialists in the field of ophthalmology from 86 Park Street.
Mr. Sierra employs eight fulltime employees with various levels of expertise, as well as, is host to four licensed Optometrists, each with their own modern eye exam rooms. Lens grinding and fittings are done on premises using the most modern equipment available.
Prior to being self-employed Mr. Sierra from 1984 through 1992 worked in various capacities in the eye care field as an Optician at LensCrafters in Connecticut and Empire Vision Center in Upstate New York, and manager for Vision Corner in Newington.
Mr. Sierra has long been active in a number of community organizations. He currently serves as President of the Spanish American Merchants Association (SAMA), Chairman and Commissioner of the Park Street Special Services District and is a member of the Connecticut Opticians Association (COA).
Sierra received his Associate in Applied Science in Ophthalmic Dispensing from Erie Community College. He was been named “Merchant of the Year” in 1998 and has received many other commendations from various state and city leaders for his commitment to the community.
Mr. Sierra resides in Glastonbury with his wife Evelyn and three children, Luis, Alejandro and Sergio.
